Class in a Coffeemaker

Although I wouldn’t consider myself a materialistic person, I will always err on the side of value. I won’t go around spending my money of frivolous things, but when I do make a purchase, I want to be sure it’s of the utmost quality. So when I recently was in the market for a new espresso machine, I took great pains to find the most high-tech model on the market. After doing a little searching, I settled on a Saeco espresso machine.

The unit was designed by BMW Group DesignsworksUSA—yes, that BMW. And it features the design and attention to detail you would expect from a BMW product. It has a sleek, modern façade will an easy-to-use touch screen display. All of the features on the espresso machine are fully programmable, meaning that once I set it up the first time, I never have to worry about playing with the settings ever again.

Waiting For My Fall Vacation

For many people the summer symbolizes a time of leisure, when you can spend long evenings chatting with friends beside a bonfire, enjoying outdoor barbecues and spending time by the lake. I certainly enjoy these pastimes, but I hardly consider summer a time for leisure. For a stay-at-home mom, summer certainly isn’t the offseason. In fact, by the time August rolls around I’m more than ready for the kids to start school so I can enjoy a nice respite from the constant fracas that ensues when they are home for three months on end.

There are, of course, a few perks that the summer season brings. For starters, I am able to turn off my alarm clock and set back the timer on my automatic espresso machine, as my kids enjoy sleeping in as much as I do. And although I enjoy having my free time while the children are in school, I take pleasure in taking them to the zoo, going to the park and going on other daytrips I would never embark on with children.

Espresso Brewing 101

18 March;  Author: Espresso-Anytime

When brewing coffee in your espresso coffee maker, it is imperative that you use high-grade coffee beans. Unlike drip coffee, espresso is brewed under pressure. This concentrates the flavors in the drink, and if you don’t use premium coffee, it is likely that your java will have an acidic aftertaste.

There are several variations on the classic espresso; one of my favorites is the simple macchiato. To prepare this basic coffee beverage, start by preparing a single shot of espresso. Finish the macchiato by adding a couple tablespoons of foamed milk, which will add flavor and body to the drink.
